The Republic of Croatia is at the crossroads of Central Europe, the Balkans, and the beautiful Mediterranean. Croatia, with more than a thousand islands off the Adriatic coast, is being discovered as a traveler’s paradise.
Zagreb, Croatia’s capital and largest city, is where we will begin our exclusive women-only tour. From Zagreb, we will spend time discovering the beautiful lakes and waterfalls of Plitvice before we tour ancient Zadar, the Roman ruins of Split and ending our tour in Dubrovnik, a UNESCO world’s heritage site.
This highlights tour of Croatia is nine nights and ten days filled with incredible walks, amazing sites, and knowledgeable guides. We will feast on sumptuous local Croatian delights, Croatian wines and local beers. Ancient times, modern times, walled cities, ruins, breathtaking views, mountains and sea…the best of Croatia. Day 1 - Welcome to Croatia: The jewel of the Mediterranean
Please plan your morning arrival to Zagreb, Croatia. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your beautiful 4/5 star boutique hotel.
Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is a beautiful, cosmopolitan city with a rich history dating from Roman times. Zagreb has more museums than any other city in the world! For centuries it has been a focal point of culture and science, and now of commerce and industry.
Located in the northwest of the country, on the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain range and along the Sava River, we will begin our tour with a welcome dinner at one of Zagreb’s finest restaurants!

Day 2 - Zagreb: Let's explore!
After breakfast, we will join our local guide at the oldest coffee shop of Zagreb, located in the main square overlooking the statue of Ban Jelacic.
Croatians are very sensitive about their coffee, and coffee drinking in a local coffee shops is part of their culture.
Ban Jeliacic, a 17th century square, is located in the heart of the city and a good starting point for exploring. Towers, castles, cathedrals and museums, oh my! Let’s begin!

Day 3 - Plitvice Lakes: And a wishing waterfall
After breakfast, we will depart for the incredible National Park of Plitvice Lakes.
The beauty of this National Park lies in its 16 lakes, inter-connected by a series of waterfalls, and set in deep woodland populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars and rare bird species.
We will walk with a local guide through this heaven-on-earth, enjoying the scenery of beautiful waterfalls and untouched nature. Legend has it that making a wish under the waterfall will make your dreams come true!
After our visit to Plitvice, we will make our way to Zadar, a city voted to be the a top European destination. Museums, monuments, ancient history and medieval times abound! Located on the Dalmatian coast, Zadar is the oldest, continuously inhabited city of Croatia and is walled be spectacular Venetian Gates.

Day 4 - Zadar: And "Alfred's Sunset"
After a leisurely morning breakfast, we will begin our Zadar sightseeing.
Starting at the ancient Forum, we will visit the beautiful church of St. Donat, symbolizing the city of Zadar. Then we're onto St. Anastasia, monuments and palaces, all the while learning all about the rich history of this beautiful old town.
Later in the afternoon, and with the blessing of the weather gods, we will embark on a boat and sail around Korlati, an archipelago National Park site consisting of 140 islands, beautiful caves and clear waters.
Zadar was a favorite city of Alfred Hitchcock, who proclaimed that Zadar has the most beautiful sunset in the world! Let’s toast to Alfred with a sun-downer and experience the beautiful sunset for ourselves!

Day 5 - Time to Split!
After breakfast, we will begin our departure to Split, the second largest city in Croatia and the city that has it all: Roman ruins, grand museums, fashionable cafes and trendy shops.
On our way to Split we will stop at Etnoland Dalmati, a typical Dalamatian village. After a short walk through the village, we will dine on local wine, cheese and prosciutto and traditional Dalmatian lunch. Then we will continue on to Trogir, a lovely stone town on an island connected to the mainland and the island of Čiovo, by bridges.
The old town, under UNESCO protection, is a treasure trove for lovers of art, Renaissance and Baroque buildings, Romanesque churches…ah, another beautiful day in Croatia!

Day 6 - Dalmatia: Every girl should have her own palace!
Time for more sightseeing after breakfast! We will journey through ancient history, starting with the Roman emperor Diocletian who was born in the nearby, important Illyrian center, the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia – Salona.
Diocletian left his mark on this great country by building one of Croatia’s most preserved palaces. With our local guide, we will explore the 1700-year-old Diocletian`s Palace, a UNESCO protected site. Let’s imagine the life of the Diocletian period, within the walls of the palace. During this tour we will also visit the Cathedral of St Duje, one of the most beautiful cultural wonders on the Adriatic coast; the ancient cellars; the Roman temples; and the famous Golden Gate.

Day 7 - Ston: "He was a bold man that first ate an oyster."
After breakfast, we will drive to Ston, a gothic medieval city surrounded by city walls...and its famous salt pains and oysters! Ston has the second-largest of city walls, which are often compared to the Great Wall of China! The bay of Mali Ston has been famous for seashell cultivation since the days of the Roman Empire, and hosts the largest oyster cultivation facilities in the Adriatic.
We will visit with a local family, with generations of oyster production, and learn how this tradition has changed through the years. We will enjoy a panoramic boat ride on a beautiful wooden boat through the Bay of Mali Ston, all the way down to the oyster beds.
A little wine tasting and a little oyster tasting along the way! At day’s end, we will make our way to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.

Day 8 - Dubrovnik: Along the cobblestone paths
An early morning start to begin our sightseeing of Dubrovnik.
Within the city walls, we will discover, hidden cobblestone streets, unique views and beautiful small squares.
Our local guide will take us to the most wonderful and hidden streets of the city. Along these narrow streets, we will shop and have lunch before having a leisurely afternoon. Your choice: exploring the beaches, a museum or more shopping!

Day 9 - Dubrovnik: A "take care of you" day
After breakfast, you can choose to relax in your boutique hotel, take another tour, visit a spa, or go last-minute shopping.
You will be provided a list of options. We will meet early evening for a sunset farewell celebration along the Dalmatian coast.

Day 10 - Farewell, Croatia! - And a proverb
This is, sadly, your departure day. You will cherish the memories and new friend that you gather along the way, so it's a timeless experience. You're on your own for transfer hotel to airport, and we wish you a wonderful trip.
